Wow, what a great obedience day all of us had today.

Jan and Keeper got #2 UDX leg today! What a talented girl she is in
obedience too.

Myra passed both Beginning Novice A trials with Topmast Karli and her other dog Glenbrier Keagan both!
AND......wait for it.....she had a run-off with herself with both her
dogs in the first trial!! Keagan run the
run-off for 1st place. Then Myra and Karli did really well in her second
trial with a 198.5 and another first place. And she got her first CD leg
with a 2nd place! Wahoo! That finishes Karli and Keagan's BN titles.

The run-off in Beginning Novice was hilarious as the judge called
Keagan's number to come back in the ring (just when Myra was ready to go
in the Novice A ring) and didn't tell her what it was for until he had
her in there and lined up to heel. Myra is pretty new to obedience, so
she didn't really have a clue what was happening but went with it and did
a great job heeling Keagan after pulling him straight from his crate.
For those of you that know Keagan, he can be a pretty big party boy a lot
of times. He gave a few woo-woo's in the ring today, but did a really
good job for Myra all day. Myra has never taken a formal obedience class
and only been training at home, reading the rule book, and having a few
private lessons with me and my girls. What a great job she did today
with both her dogs!!

Chime and Kerri went in Beginning Novice B for both trials and Chime took
the honors in both classes with first places and a 199.5 score! Kerri
had a few no sits, so let her sister take the high honors and took home
a couple of 4th place ribbons.

A big Congratulations to Pam Martin and the Bonster for earning a 200 perfect score and taking back-to-back High in Trials this past weekend!!
Wow!  What a great weekend for this amazing team.  They are so close to their Grand MOTCH title.  Taking a little time off for those babies seems to have improved their game!  And not having much hair doesn't seem to have hurt either.
Big Congratulations to an Amazing Team!

Just heard from Mary Ellen.  She finished Nina's UD the end of November, handled by Mary Ellen herself!!

That is so exciting!  Mary Ellen is an inspiration to us all.  She had a bad stroke when Nina was just over two and it took over a year to get back to training (and even walking!).
She diligently pressed on with Nina's obedience career, getting her BN, CD, CDX.  Then on to Utility training.  She had to overcome her difficulty in comprehension and speech while in the ring, remnants of her stroke.  But she kept at it.  On July 26th, they entered the ring and qualified for their first Utility A leg for a 3rd place!  The next day, while walking into the building, MaryEllen tripped and broke her hip.  She was taken to the hospital in the ambulance, her husband accompanying her.  They left Nina with a friend and asked her to take her in and show her.  MaryEllen's friend/trainer couldn't take her in because she can only show in the B classes.  So another friend offered to take her in, a stranger to Nina.  She started warming up Nina and realized they didn't have any articles....Nina's set had gone to the hospital in Mary Ellen's husband's car.  So they drummed up a set of articles, practiced a minute with them, and off into the ring they went.  Showing how stable a dog Nina is, they not only qualified, but placed 1st with a 197!!!

Never one to give up, Mary Ellen went back in the ring in November and finished Nina's UD with another 1st place!!!   WAHOO!!!

She is now known as Topmast Nina Travelyn Girl BN UD GO.

What a team!

We are so proud of them.

CT Keeper!!!

Congratulations to Jan Masica and CT Keeper on completing their VST track in 12 minutes and obtaining their Champion Tracker title!!  WAHOO!!  A CT is not an easy title to obtain.  Only 5% of dogs pass that VST, which is tracking on concrete, asphalt, and grass.  I was there to watch Abbi's daughter complete that track in 12 minutes and it was breathtaking.  The crowd was estactic for Jan & Keeper and Jan was so happy.

This title is given to dogs that have 10 QQ's, with 6 of them with double placements.  This is not an easy title to obtain, especially for Keeper competing in the 20" class, which is the highly competitive class with lots of Border Collies.

Just heard from Stephanie.  Luk passed his Senior test today with flying colors and is now a Senior Hunter!!

We are so proud of these guys.  Stephanie is a Novice A handler and this field handling thing is all brand new to her.  She and her pro trainer Mike, have done a wonderful training Luk to his potential and showing that beauty, brains, and field ability can go together.  And this love of field for Steph all started with the Carol Cassity seminar (thanks Gayle and Carol).

Luk's marking is fantastic, just like his momma's.

It's nice to know that breeding choices for the risk we take breeding to a conformation dog that has no performance titles has paid off.  The Traveling litter is really out there showing everybody that the combination worked!
Thanks Abbi and Collin!
